Yiwu City’s Express Delivery Volume Reached 2.74 billion Pieces in the First Quarter
On April 23, according to the Yiwu Postal Administration, the postal industry in the Yiwu completed a total of 2.76 billion pieces of postal delivery services in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 18.8% compared to the same period last year. Among them, the cumulative volume of express delivery services provided by express service enterprises (excluding postal company parcel services) reached 2.74 billion pieces, representing an 18.8% year-on-year increase. In the first quarter, Yiwu’s express delivery volume ranked second nationwide. E-commerce has been the primary driving force behind the growth of Yiwu’s express delivery volume. In recent years, to improve the efficiency of express delivery services, Yiwu has actively promoted initiatives such as “Express Delivery to Factories,” “Express Delivery to Villages,” and “Express Delivery Overseas.” It has also encouraged enterprises to advance technological innovation and the use of intelligent devices, explore the application of new technologies such as big data, the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and mobile internet, and achieve synergies between the “Internet +” and express delivery industries. Currently, the industry has largely realized the substitution of machines for human labor, with a significant deployment of modern automated sorting and weighing equipment, including “little yellow men,” “little blue men,” and fully automatic or semi-automatic sorting and weighing barcode scanning devices across enterprises. |
